If you don’t already have this organic healing balm by The Honest Company, you should totally get it now! Seriously, this product works wonders. First of all, it’s made of all organic oils and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals! Scarlett’s skin tends to be on the dry side so I thought the solution was to put a ton of baby lotion on her. I spoke to her pediatrician and found out that the baby lotion I was using is water based so it only temporarily relieves dry skin. Ever since I started using this product, I’ve seen a major difference. Her skin stays moisturized for much longer and feels silky smooth, like newborn status.
This past December, we went to Sea World on a gloomy day and it totally slipped my mind to put sunblock on Scarlett. And yup you guessed it, my poor baby got sunburn on her cheeks… ultimate mommy fail for sure. Of course, I was freaking out at night when I noticed her cheeks were super red. Quick shoutout to my sweet husband who always has to put up with my worry wart self 24/7, lol. So I went ahead a posted about what I should do in my “First Time Mommy Facebook Group,” best group ever btw! I didn’t have any of the remedies they suggested so I decided to use the organic healing balm for the night then get whatever I needed to get in the morning if it still looked bad. Throughout the night, I slabbed thick coats onto her cheeks. To my surprise, her cheeks were back to normal the next morning! I’m not even exaggerating. And no, I don’t work for the Honest Company… but are they hiring? LOL jk. Any way, this amazing product makes me one happy mama!
You can get it here or if you have a Costco Membership, a 2-pack is currently on sale for the price of one here (what a steal)!
(This was me 6 mos. postpartum, I lost the baby weight after 3 mos. of hard work & dedication)
One of the biggest challenges as a mother is “losing the baby weight,” unless you’re one of the lucky ones who were “all belly” and bounced back right after, haha. Thankfully, after 6 months, I was able to get back to my pre-baby weight but it was NOT easy. I was on a workout program and meal plan called “21 day fix” by BeachBody and it worked! The hardest part, besides the intense workouts, was skipping out on my “Iced Hazelnut Americanos” from The Coffee Bean for 3 weeks! You’re only allowed to drink black coffee with literally just a splash of non-fat milk. I’ve never been on such a structured meal plan before so it was definitely a challenge but if you’re serious about reaching a goal, its totally doable. As I was about ready to unfreeze my CorePower Yoga membership, I found out I was pregnant with baby #2!
To be honest, I should be working out way more during this pregnancy but let’s be real… working full-time, being a mother and wife is exhausting to say the least. Lately, my workout has been chasing my one-year-old around and taking my dogs out for their daily walk. Before my first pregnancy, I was a “workout-aholic,” healthy eating and self control just followed naturally (unless someone mentioned boba… my guilty pleasure). It definitely helped being a Pure Barre instructor and dance teacher, I was always burning calories.
(Throwback to when I was a Pure Barre instructor. I miss living in Lululemon workout clothes)
Oh how things have changed! I complain to my husband every day about gaining weight and how it bums me out sometimes (yes, I know I’m growing a human but the scale has not been my BFF). The only things that can cheer me up are boba and a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts… HA! I make him promise to say no to me when I ask for a second round of sweets but get mad at him when he actually does try to stop me, #preggoproblems lol.
When I was pregnant with Scarlett, I gained a whoppin’ 55 pounds! This pregnancy, I’m right on track and aim to stay within the suggested weight gain of 25-35 pounds. Since I am heading into my third trimester next week, I made a vow to myself to take at least 30 minutes a few days a week to incorporate some pregnancy safe workouts into my busy schedule. Exercising during pregnancy isn’t about losing weight but more for helping moderate a healthy controlled weight gain. The benefits that come with working out during pregnancy are amazing! I will be posting about those health benefits in detail soon, along with my favorite pregnancy workout exercises!

When I found out I was having a girl, I knew I was in big trouble… my shopping addiction would reach a whole ‘nother level (and it sure did). The time I spend at the mall has doubled and I can’t seem to go to Target without finding myself roaming aimlessly around the baby section. Oh and online shopping is another story *ahem* Etsy! I guess you can say I enjoy dressing up my baby girl and taking a bunch of pictures of her… if you follow me on Instagram, you know what I mean (sorry, not sorry, lol). Since she started walking, it’s definitely been a challenge trying to get her to stay still for pictures. Our little photo sessions consist of me chasing after Scarlett with a camera like the paparazzi, or should I say “mamarazzi” haha.
Hope you enjoyed looking at some of my favorite outfits of Scarlett’s! I apologize that a bunch of the them are sold out now but I did find some similar options.
Dress: Topshop Maternity – Hat: H&M – Necklace: Nordstrom B.P. – Sandals: Target
I’m absolutely loving this Topshop maternity maxi dress! I’ve already lost track of how many times I’ve worn it since I got it a couple months ago. It’s snug enough so I can flaunt the bump but the material is extremely stretchy which surprisingly holds its shape no matter how long I wear it. Unfortunately, it’s sold out on Nordstrom and TopShop but I did find similar ones from Target here and Nordstrom here.
P.S. I can’t believe I am in my last week of my second trimester! With a one-year-old keeping me busy at home, this pregnancy is just flying by.
For those who know me, they know that I am obsessed with nail polish. I literally have over a hundred of them in all brands and all shades. My hubby actually made me a nail polish rack that we have hung up on our bathroom wall (thanks babe, you da best). Before mommy life, I would change my nail color every other day because I would get tired of the color I had on and can’t stand chipped nail polish. Nowadays, I’d be lucky to have time to do my nails once a week (insert crying emoji here, lol). For years, I have received compliments on my diy manicures (manis for short) so I thought why not do my first blog post on my fave nail products, share how to I do my manis, and my nail polish swatch of “Miami Beet” by OPI.
My diy mani products:
My diy mani steps:
- OPI Natural Nail Base CoatPut Instant Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen on your cuticles and leave it on for about 15 seconds.
- Push cuticles back with a cuticle pusher.
- Rinse hands with warm soapy water.
- Trim cuticles with a cuticle nipper (please be very careful).
- Buff nails with a nail buffer block.
- Put one coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat.
- Depending on the colored nail polish you use, put either 2 or 3 coats on.
- Allow some time to let nails dry.
- Apply one coat of CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat.
- After about a minute of putting on the top coat, spray OPI Rapidry Spray on each nail.
Maintain your cuticles between manis by applying CND Cuticle Eraser on your cuticles a couple times a day. Trust me, it’s a miracle worker!
