The Versatile Poncho

Molly Ades Poncho 4MollyAdes3MollyAdes

Fellow mamas and mamas-to-be, you need this Molly Ades Portable Nursing Poncho! You know I love having versatile pieces in my closet cause I love getting a good use out of all my clothing to get my money’s worth… am I right ladies?! Well, not only is this Portable Nursing Poncho something I’d wear when I’m not pregnant, because I love the oversized look, but thankfully I can wear all throughout my pregnancy too (even when my belly is the size of a watermelon). AND it’s loose enough to fit a baby in it while nursing… score! I wanted black, of course, cause it can go with everything.

When I first opened up this package in the mail, the whole poncho was folded into that pouch in the front of my belly and zipped up. I was like, wait, where’s my poncho?! Then I unzipped it and the pouch was the poncho! Lol. Mind blown. I seriously love that cause it’s on-the-go and I can easily store it in the diaper bag.

Since I’m almost 34 weeks, pretty soon I’ll be nursing a newborn with this poncho. You guys, have to check out Molly Ades for more super cute maternity/nursing wear! This poncho comes in other cute colors too 🙂

Have a great weekend everyone!

Stay Hydrated

Okay, it’s been SO hot here in San Diego lately… hello summer!! Staying hydrated is definitely important in general but more importantly when it’s hot AND um, if you’re pregnant. Lol. I’ll be the first one to confess that I don’t drink enough water but ever since I got my new Hydro Flask water bottle (#1 in the picture) and keeping it always near me, I’ve been able to stay super hydrated throughout the day. What’s great about it too is that it keeps your water cold for 24 hours… obsessed!

I also have the bkr water bottle (#3) which I love too but it doesn’t keep your water cold for hours. It’s super cute though right?! Any way, to help you stay hydrated, I’ve shared some other water bottles I’ve been eyeing. That marble one by Swell is next on my list! Which one is your fave?!

First Haircuts

So Leo and I finally decided it was time to get Landon’s first haircut! Scarlett has never gotten a haircut either and though, she didn’t really NEED one just yet, we thought it would be a fun experience to have them done together. It was definitely bittersweet because we just LOVE and adore Landon’s curls but it’s starting to get out of control and the summer heat is ridiculous. For their first ever hair cuts, we took them to Little Locks in La Jolla, CA.

The Little Locks salon is super cute and obviously so kid-friendly. We showed up later than our scheduled appointment (because… 2 kids lol) but they were still able to fit us in if we waited a little. The receptionist, Melanie, was very sweet and helpful. The kids didn’t mind waiting at all because there were so many toys to play with and ones for sale for them to look at. Oh and they also sell hair products and accessories. Talk about a one stop shop! I loved how bright and welcoming everything was in there too.

When it’s time for the hair cut, the kids get to sit in toy cars while watching a movie that’s projected onto the mirror… so awesome!

Scarlett was up first (her choice)! She literally jumped in the toy car, which is so similar to the one we have at home btw. She was such a good girl and listening to the hairstylist Marisela’s directions. I was definitely a proud mama! Since I want to grow her hair longer, we just evened out her hair with a straight cut and got about an inch chopped off. I love how Marisela styled it with a braid and added glitter. Scarlett even got to choose a ribbon 🙂

Next up was Landon boy! They gave him an iPad to play with but poor boy doesn’t know how to work one just yet and was more interested in the bright orange case… lol. Since his hair cut was on the drastic side, it definitely took longer so he got impatient in the toy car after awhile which is why you see him sitting on Leo’s lap haha. I literally was contemplating my decision of cutting off his curls when I saw them falling to the ground BUT the end result is too darn cute! Leo and I were very happy with how it turned out and apparently so were the kids!

I still can’t believe how different my Landon looks! His haircut has seriously made him look like such a big boy! Yes I do miss the curls but thank goodness, I have a million pictures of him with his adorable curly hair 🙂

Thank you Little Locks for having us… we couldn’t have asked for a better experience at for our kids’ first haircuts! We even got a memorable certificate with some of their hair… how special! I literally had to bribe and carry Scarlett out of the salon because she wanted to stay and play more haha. We will definitely be back when the kids need haircuts again… If you are in the San Diego area and are looking for a salon to take your kids too, I highly recommend Little Locks! Ipsy Glamour Dolls BrushGlamour Dolls Romantic Rose Brush

I just adore these brushes! They’re so cute with the copper and pink tips. I have a few brushes from this brand and I love them all! This is one is for precision blending and for applying eyeshadows. I love to do my eye make-up for special occasions so this is perfect.

Ipsy Beaute Basics BlenderBeaute Basics Travel Face Blender in Light Pink

I use the original beauty blender to apply my face powder. I rarely use liquid foundation but when I do, I use my beauty blender to apply that too. I loved receiving this travel size one that I used to apply my under eye concealer. It’s perfect since the beauty blender I already have is took big to hit the right spots under my eyes.

Margaret Dabbs London Treatment Enriched Nail Polish in Green Daylily

Getting nail polishes (especially full size bottles) in my glam bags makes me so happy! The packaging of this one is beautiful! Isn’t it? I love the color too. The formula itself was very thick and opaque with just one coat. It’s definitely quality. I would love to try out more colors from this brand!

Ipsy privai matte moisturizerprivai Matte Moisturizer

This moisturizer definitely helped keeping my skin matte which I liked. My face isn’t really on the oily side to begin with though so I don’t know if I’ll need to keep using it. It does help keeping my skin soft too. Based on all the reviews on ipsy though, this product is amazing and serves its purpose! If you have oily skin and need a product that will keep your skin matte, you should try this moisturizer.

Ah I just love this brand!! I literally have been using their blush that I got in my ipsy bag a fews months ago to this day. This one is a bit on the matte side and the one I’ve been using has a light shimmer. I love that they’re different so I can switch it up. I’m definitely a fan of this product!!

Ipsy DOUCCE mascaraDOUCCE Maxlash Volumizer Mascara

I always get excited to get new mascaras to try. When I saw that this was a mascara that volumizes lashes, I couldn’t wait to try it on. The wand looked promising although it’s not the type I usually prefer for mascaras. It was a bit tough to get the product on my lashes. Although, it was very pigmented, it didn’t really work for me… unfortunately.

Another month, another ipsy bag! My faves from this month are the nail polish and the blush. I’ll probably get really get use out of those 2 products the most. The bag itself was pretty cute too, since there are lips on it, I’ll probably store some lip products in there 🙂 If you want to try ipsy for only $10/month, click here! It’s so worth it to try 5 new products each month plus get a make-up bag. To help put it in perspective, the blender brush alone retails for $10 and the nail polish is $22… wow!

P.S. I got 6 products this month because of an issue with a product from a previous month.

Landon’s Lumberjack Themed Party

Lumberjack Theme BirthdayLumberjack Cake

^ Cake: Sweet as Bliss (owned by my good friend, Tara, who was a Cupcake Wars finalist btw)  – Cake Topper & Birthday Crown: Fetes & Fables (amazing quality and the owner, Jess, is so sweet)

The photos above were taken a couple weeks before his actual party. As most mamas know, having a photo session with a baby or toddler can go either way so you gotta just go with the flow. Lol. In my case, Landon would not stay standing, didn’t want to smile and kept grabbing the lantern and putting it on top of the smash cake lol.

Here’s photos from the party we held at our house…

Lumberjack Welcome Table^ Everyone got a kick out of our welcome table… lol. Thank you Pinterest!

Lumberjack Sweets Table_5Lumberjack Chalkboard^ My cousin made this, she will be opening an Etsy shop soon but if you’re interested in a custome theme chalkboard (digital file)… e-mail me at!

Lumberjack Tier Cake^Cake: Deanna’s Cakery & Sweets (everyone was obsessed with this cake my mom ordered from her friend)

Lumberjack Sweets Table_4^ Looking back at the sweets table, I wish I had time to make or order a backdrop!

Lumberjack Pancake Cake^Cake: Deanna’s Cakery & Sweets (everyone was in awe that Landon’s smash cake looked exactly like a stack of pancakes)

Lumberjack Pancake Cake_1Lumberjack Pancake Cake_2Lumberjack

Overall, I thought Landon’s Lumberjack themed party was pretty successful! Special shoutout to all our guests who came with their flannels in 90 degree weather. We had the AC blasting but since more and more people kept coming, it just wasn’t cooling down. Landon ended up being in his diaper most of the time until the early evening lol. Planning parties are no joke and as much fun as they are, they are so stressful when you’re the one hosting it! I hope Landon will be able to look back at all the photos one day and know that he is truly loved.

You, Me, Matcha

Holy Matcha_4Holy Matcha_3Holy Matcha

Ok if you’re in the San Diego area, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about Holy Matcha in North Park already… and if not, where have you been?! Lol jk. But no really, this place has been the talk of the town since they’ve opened and based on the pictures above, can you see why? It’s like a bloggers’ dream… from the marble tables, pink and green color scheme and the adorable presentation of their drinks and food. It’s totally the place to capture the perfect Instagram post! Lol.

Holy Matcha_5

I’m sure this place can get crowded during the prime time hours of the weekday evenings and obviously the weekends so I went during a lunch break with my coworker, Shana (who had to take my husband’s role of Instagram Husband haha). We went around 11am on a Thursday and there were a good amount of people but it wasn’t packed. There were only a couple people ahead of us in line and there were open seats. I was stoked haha.

Holy Matcha_2

I got the iced matcha horchata (two of my favorite things in the world mixed together in one drink). I loved it! It wasn’t too sweet and the touch of cinnamon was perfection. I also got the strawberry gluten free donut and for a “healthy” donut it was pretty darn good! The matcha donut was my coworkers and she said it was delish FYI.

Overall, this place is suuuuper cute and the drink and donut I tried were so yummy! Would I wait in line outside during a busy weekend day? Probably not, but I would definitely stop by again during their less busy hours on a weekday! If you’re in San Diego, you have to go at least once to try it out (and get that cliché picture for your IG, duh).

Thanks for stopping by! Happy almost Friday! 🙂
